Dr Natalie Flatter

Dr Flatter is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has worked for over 12 years in the NHS as part of a Child and Adolescent Mental Health team. She has specialised in the assessment and treatment of severe and enduring mental illness among children and their families. She has assessed and treated adults in the private sector, specialising in personal injury cases, including road traffic accidents and medical negligence.

She embarked on her career within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in 2004. She honed her skills in working with children and families with a broad range of developmental and mental health disorders including trauma and abuse, PTSD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, Autistic Spectrum Conditions and self-harming behaviour.   She has also developed her experience in working with severe and enduring mental health disorders in children.

Since 2006 she has also worked in private practice running a busy child and family clinic offering bespoke interventions in Hertfordshire.

She regularly assesses children and families giving evidence to the Courts on a range of difficulties including childhood abuse, trauma and the developmental impact of parenting.

She has published on the issue of child abandonment and offered seminars on the subject of childhood literacy.
