Dr Mats Dernevik
Dr Dernevik has worked as a Clinical and Forensic psychologist for 30 years encompassing forensic mental health services, prison services, academic combining clinical with research and academic lectureships. He currently works as Consultant Psychologist in the private healthcare sector, as a visiting research fellow at Lincoln University and independent expert.
His specialist clinical and research interests include offending and mental disorder, clinical risk assessment and management, mental capacity and suggestibility, particularly in vulnerable adults. He has also worked extensively with mental health disorders, addictions and severe and enduring personality disorder. He has worked extensively as an expert witness for the Family Courts, Criminal Courts, probation boards and Mental Health Review Tribunals. He has also been a consultant for refugee and immigration services and gender identity issues in Sweden.
