Dr Fanny Black
Dr Black is a HCPC registered Senior Forensic Psychologist currently running an established private practice. As an independent expert, Dr Black prepares around 50 reports per year for the Family and Criminal Courts.
Dr Black holds the post of Honorary Lecturer in the Psychology Department at Kings College London and the Institute of Psychiatry in London, where she teaches and mentors trainee psychologists. Dr Black was previously appointed as Senior Forensic Psychologist in Forensic Services of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and has held specialist roles across various settings including liaison psychiatry, prison, secure hospital, adult acute and secure CAMHS services. Dr Black has several years’ experience assessing and treating mentally disordered offenders, as well as assessing and treating sex offenders with and without formal mental disorder. Dr Black further has several years’ experience in the assessment and treatment of individuals who have suffered extreme trauma, and conducts assessments in matters of asylum.
