Dr Alan Hebben-Wadey Clinical and Health Psychologist

Dr Alan Hebben-Wadey is a senior Clinical Psychologist with experience working with adults across the full spectrum of mental distress. He specialises in working with adults with long term health conditions and disability. He has substantial experience across a range of traumatic injuries and medical disorders, including chronic pain, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, dermatological conditions and cancer.

Dr Hebben-Wadey has a interest in trauma and the correlation between physical and emotional trauma and health. He has specialist training in the assessment and treatment of trauma including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). As such, he has many years’ clinical experience relevant to expert witness work, including criminal negligence, occupational health and personal injury. He is a regular contributor to the teaching, training and supervision of Trainee Clinical Psychologists, including the selection of Trainee Clinical Psychologists at interview.

He is an invited guest speaker at the University of Brighton and University of Sussex graduate and post-graduate psychology and medical courses. In addition, Dr Hebben-Wadey is an experienced trainer of psychologists and psychotherapists in the application of psychology to individuals with long term health conditions.
